My name is Rachael Louden, and I'm looking forward to a rewarding future of teaching elementary school. I grew up in Louisville, Colorado and have lived in Colorado all my life, making my way around the state from the mountains to the city. To follow my career goal, I moved to Denver to attend Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Anatole France once said “the whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards.” As a result of years spent watching children interact with the world, I came to the realization that working with children and watching them grow is a passion of mine. This passion is what has led me to pursue teaching as a career.

Public schools not only teach children the curriculum required, they teach life lessons and the different kinds of people that make up the world we live in. Due to the many differences among each student, I believe that an interactive classroom is very important. By actively engaging the young minds with each other, questions are raised and different understandings are discussed. By teaching with an open mind and constantly finding new ways to stimulate the classroom, you are gradually progressing to a greater understanding of education.

Overall, I believe that as an educator, it is extremely important to constantly raise questions, remain active in the students thought process, and always be searching for new ways to enlighten the classroom.
